Friendly, one to one support

Our support team are ready to listen to you and your loved ones funeral wishes and can offer independent funeral advice to help you make the best choices for your emotional and financial needs. Appointments throughout Dundee

We are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Meetings can be arranged at at a convenient location within your local community with many libraries, church halls and community centres happy to accommodate those who need our support.

Confidential, independent advice

Funeral Link is a registered charity with no direct link to Dundee City Council or any funeral directors and our support is focused entirely on those who need our help. Conversations are confidential and at a time of bereavement we promise to treat everyone with kindness, compassion and understanding. Funeral Link acknowledges that we all have unique wishes, expectations and questions at this time of loss so if we don't immediately have the answers we will do our very best to find them for you.

Help to apply for funeral benefits

Some funeral directors assist the bereaved to apply to Social Security Scotland’s Funeral Support Payment which can help pay some, but not all, of the funeral costs. If you are in receipt of a qualifying benefit you can receive the costs for burial or cremation fees along with a contribution of up to £1010 towards funeral director’s fees. If your partner has died you may also be eligible submit a claim to the DWP for Bereavement Support Payment. Our team are always happy to assist with these applications.

Funeral planning advice

Have you been thinking about the plans you’ve made (if any) for your own funeral? Have you told your loved ones what kind of funeral you really want? Or what you don’t want! Do you worry about how your funeral will be paid for? Do you have a Will? What about Power of Attorney? Do you have a million questions about funerals? Then our team can help! Funeral Link are also part of a compassionate communities Truacanta collaboration called Say Something Dundee where we (along with partners from University of Dundee, DVVA and Marie Curie) aim to improve openness and conversations about all aspects of death, dying, loss and care easier to initiate.

The team at Funeral Link are well connected with local bereavement support, money advice, volunteering and lots of other services which may help after you lose someone you love including At a Loss, Good Grief Trust and Cruse. Open to all struggling with cost

We are open to everyone who currently lives or whose loved one has died in Dundee.
