Funeral Link Tree to Remember...

This year's To Absent Friends festival takes place between 1st - 8th November and will launch at the University of Dundee.

As I had mentioned previously, Funeral Link are also organising an event as part of the 'To Absent Friends' Festival.  We are hosting a gathering on Friday 8th November at 2pm in Baxter's Park.

We are having a tree planted in the park (with support from Dundee City Council and Forbes & Co Signmakers) which will stand in memory of all those we have loved but have died this year and would love if you are able to join with us to support this.

Some of the families we have supported are unable to afford a memorial stone to mark their loved one’s resting place and we know that the loss of a loved one can lead to loneliness and social isolation.  We hope that in planting this tree we will encourage some of our clients to walk in the park, appreciate this tree as it grows and feel able to engage more with their community as they remember their loved ones.  We are inviting families we have supported in the months since launching our service in March and hope some of them will also be able to join us.

Please do let me know by emailing linda@dfss.org.uk if you can come along so we have an idea of numbers.

The map below shows the blue dot where we will be gathering to the park.  If you enter the park from the Pitkerro Road entrance and follow the path down towards the wall adjacent to the bottom end of Wortley Place you will find us there.
